Instructional Focus:
In alignment with the Chancellor’s Instructional Principles and District 28 Foci and Priorities If we continue to unpack and utilize the Next Generation Learning Standards and 5 Magnet Pillars (Diversity, Innovative Curriculum, Professional Development, Academic Excellence, High-Quality Instructional Systems, and Family and Community Partnerships) to collaboratively design rigorous, relevant, coherent units of study then:
- Students will make a deeper connection to their learning through effective guided reading practices, intentional use of vocabulary across all content areas, and engaging in student-centered discussions using discussion protocols.
- Teachers will engage students across grade levels by data-supporting grouping.
- Families will engage in workshops and learning opportunities that will enable their voices to be part of the instructional foci of the school.
Principal’s Priority (ies)/Focus:
- To create a place of learning that will explore and provide for every aspect of students’ capacities for learning by developing a broad, challenging and engaging curriculum .
- To provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for the twenty-first century.
- Educate the “whole child” through SEL initiatives. Build emotional balance and resilience in students.
- Foster and encourage communication, understanding and participation of the entire school community to enhance educational partnerships.
